LiFePO4 house banks from Victron Energy, in 12V, 24V and 48V. Lithium turns most of its rated capacity into usable capacity, accepts a much higher charge rate, and lasts for thousands of cycles — which is why it tends to win on cost per usable amp-hour over the life of the bank even though it costs more up front. It does need charging equipment that knows it is charging lithium. Two Victron ranges are sold here: Lithium NG (used in all APS kits) and Lithium Smart. They use different battery management systems and cannot be mixed in one bank – when adding to a kit, choose NG.
